Welcome to The Pet Medic Training!
Preparedness Saves Lives
The Pet Medic Training provides pet emergency preparedness training, pet first aid and CPR education, pet safety training, and pet disaster preparedness and readiness training for pet owners, pet industry professionals, and operational K9 teams throughout Hawaiʻi.
In real-world pet emergencies, safety incidents, and disaster situations, preparation matters.
Because of this, the training focuses on situational awareness, risk recognition, and clear decision-making under pressure.
Emergency Readiness Is a Skill — Not a Guess
The Pet Medic Training was founded by Bertha, a U.S. Army combat veteran and certified pet emergency training instructor.
As a result of her military background, every course is built on discipline, structure, and calm-under-pressure principles.
In operational environments, medics act when time is limited and outcomes depend on preparation.
Likewise, this same standard of readiness guides all pet emergency, safety, and disaster training programs.
The mission is clear: to raise the standard of pet and working K9 emergency readiness.
This is accomplished by teaching individuals and organizations how to identify risk, respond appropriately, and make informed decisions during pet medical emergencies, safety incidents, and natural disasters.
Evidence-Based Pet Emergency & Disaster Training
Training programs emphasize practical, scenario-informed education.
Specifically, instruction includes:
- Pet first aid and pet CPR fundamentals
- Pet emergency assessment and response
- Pet safety awareness and risk prevention
- Pet disaster preparedness and emergency planning
These programs are designed for a wide range of environments.
For example, training supports:
- Pet owners and families
- Pet groomers, boarding facilities, and dog daycare staff
- Shelters and animal care organizations
- Operational K9 handlers working in law enforcement, search and rescue, and other high-risk settings
Rather than relying on guesswork, this training prioritizes readiness and decision-making.
In addition, instruction is delivered within clear ethical and safety boundaries and does not include unsafe online demonstrations of advanced lifesaving techniques.
